Planet Parade have been playing in bands together since childhood. In the last 2 years they swapped instruments and changed their musical approach. The band consists of Michael Hopkins (vocals, guitar), Ronan Kilduff (bass) and Andrew Lloyd (drums).
They are an energetic, off-kilter/ melodic/ alternative rock band whose strength lies in their live performances. Their debut 4 track E.P Ghosts To People was self-released at the end of 2009 and showcases the band’s idiosyncratic sound and wide ranging musicality.
Play Fair and Cut the Chord, from the EP, received heavy daytime airplay on Irish national radio and are still playlisted on Dublin’s Phantom FM. Since Planet Parade’s first live shows in 2009 they have opened for the likes of Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, Hockey, Wild Beasts, Surfer Blood, Bell X1 and Delorentos. The band released their follow up EP Zulu Sound on October 15th, with great press reviews.
They have played with bands such as The Delorentos and Surfer Blood. They also headlined the Spirit Store, Dundalk on May 19th to an amazing reception and respond.
Planet Parade have now just finished touring with Bell X1, which was a huge honor for the band and got to travel Europe with the Irish veterans.
These guys deserve to do well, hard working Kildare lads, with great songs, great, drive and great passion!..
